I’ve been thinking a lot about fast-paced games lately. Do you think it’s better to rely on quick reactions or to slow down and plan more carefully even when everything feels rushed? I notice I often switch between both approaches, and I’m not sure which actually leads to better outcomes or just feels more comfortable in the moment.

I actually came across a really interesting read https://freefast.co.uk/blog/why-fast-games-need-a-calmer-kind-of-strategy-2/ recently that made me rethink how I approach fast environments. It explained how calm thinking can sometimes be more effective than constant speed, especially when decisions start piling up too quickly. What stood out to me was the idea that slowing your mindset doesn’t mean being passive—it can actually improve clarity and consistency in your actions.

I see what you mean about staying calm—it’s interesting because I used to think being fast was the main advantage in any high-pressure situation. But lately I’ve noticed that when I actually slow down for a second, even briefly, I tend to make more consistent choices. It’s not about overthinking, just giving your mind a moment to catch up with what’s happening.
