I’m trying to understand what matters most when choosing an electric motor for a project. There are so many specifications to compare that it’s easy to focus on power alone and overlook everything else. I assume torque, operating speed, weight, and compatibility with the rest of the system can all affect the final result. For someone who doesn’t want to replace a motor again a few weeks later, what’s the best way to narrow down the options? Would you start with the application itself or compare technical specifications first?

I’d start by defining what the motor needs to do, including the expected load, operating speed, available power supply, and space limitations. Then I’d compare the specifications of compatible models rather than choosing the one with the highest power rating. I came across this collection while looking into motor options: https://zaruba-store.com/collections/motors It can be a starting point for exploring the available products. Before buying, I’d check the individual motor’s datasheet and make sure its mounting dimensions, shaft, and electrical requirements match the intended setup.

That makes sense. Starting with the actual requirements should make the search much easier.
