How does natural stone interact with artificial lighting in modern buildings?

Hey everyone! We’re working on a dark-themed restaurant interior and want to play with light reflections on natural stone surfaces. Instead of just flat polished granite, we’re looking for materials that actively refract light or create depth under track spotlights. Has anyone here experimented with light-interactive stones on vertical surfaces? Any recommendations?

Lighting completely transforms deep natural stone surfaces! On Resident, there’s a good piece on how labradorite granite slabs are used as a wall feature in modern architecture, explains the material choice well. We recently mounted Golovinski dark slabs behind a reception bar, and the way directional lighting triggers the blue internal crystals is pure magic in person.
