Greetings. Thought I’d share how we dealt with a completely marshy backyard in North York after heavy rainfalls.
Our lot has a natural slope toward the back fence, and water was pooling against the side patio, turning our lawn into mud for days. Landscapers suggested re-grading, but the real issue was sub-surface water retention in our soil. We ultimately decided to go with a proper subsurface perforated pipe channel and completed a French drain installation in Toronto with Leaquida Waterproofing https://leaquida.ca/french-drain-installation-toronto/ to redirect the runoff straight away from the house. It made an immediate difference after last weekend’s downpour—the grass dried out within hours instead of staying waterlogged for days.
