Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Kyiv and I’m a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of cathedrals, monuments, and historical sites. I really want to see the heavy hitters like St. Andrew’s Church, but I also want to find those unique, less-obvious landmarks that tell the “real” story of the city. Does anyone have a recommended route or a reliable resource that’s actually current for 2026?

Hi there! When I traveled to Kyiv recently, I realized pretty quickly that the city is way more complex than just the few famous cathedrals you see on postcards. I spent my first couple of days just trying to piece together a route from random blogs, but most of the info was outdated or didn’t explain how to actually get to the hidden spots. I eventually came across this Kyiv sightseeing guide, and it honestly became my go-to for the rest of the trip. What I liked was that it wasn’t just a list of buildings; it gave me a much better sense of the city’s layout and helped me discover some incredible Soviet-era architecture and modern street art that I totally would have overlooked. My personal tip: make sure you check out the views from the “Glass Bridge” near the Arch of Freedom—it’s stunning at blue hour. Also, keep that guide handy for checking which monuments have restricted access right now, as things can shift. The city has such a resilient, beautiful energy—you’re going to love exploring it!
